This is a varied straight pour, meaning the paint is poured onto the canvas from varying heights. It is always a grab bag type of results, and so one of the most fun techniques when you can let go of the outcome. It’s sometimes quite challenging (or impossible) to create a composition that feels cohesive.
Having said that, the more I look at this the more I’m struck by not only the gorgeous color combo but also the sense of melting or collapse that I see. A transition of some sort is happening, and what is being revealed?
It is the dim haze of mystery that adds enchantment to the pursuit.
