Today, when both of my pours were disappointing, I decided to try to salvage some of the paint already on canvas by transferring it via balloon kiss.
I’ve been toying with different pour techniques that might work on craft paper to use for greeting cards, as I’ve done this with both watercolors and alcohol inks quite successfully. The problem one runs into is that acrylic paint, particularly when used in fluid art, can be quite heavy and thick. My craft paper can handle it, but when you add that painting onto cardstock for a greeting card it’s a bit too hefty.
So today I was really excited to see how nicely this method works. It’s really fun to do, the sort of thing that kindergartners would go crazy with. I created three sheets, and by the time I stopped I realized that it would be easy to take this even further, should I stay motivated.
I’ll be at this again tomorrow. Too fun!
