The very simple painting above marks a turning point for me that I’m so happy about. I’ve struggled with getting consistent results when working wet-on-dry, particularly with leaves. Today, after watching the latest class, a light bulb went on for me. I realized I’ve been less than mindful about the amount of water/pigment in my brush….so I sat today doing some experiments, and now feel like I’ve figured out something that’s essential. Now, I’ve painted a LOT of leaves the last few days but don’t consider them the finished product I’ve been shooting for with this 30-day challenge…but the one above is going to become a greeting card, albeit one that is special to me and me alone. 🙂

Success is not the key to happiness. Happiness is the key to success. If you love what you are doing, you will be successful.
